SCT all done.
2 wee bags of pink fluid (some plasma, some red blood cells and somewhere in there, stem cells), quickly drip fed in, in no more than 20 minutes. They'll sloosh about in the blood for a wee while, before making their way into the bone marrow. There they'll sit for a few days before they start to kick into life, 10 to 14 days from now.
An interesting side effect, I'll apparently smell faintly of sweetcorn for a couple of days. I did get a distinct taste of sweetcorn for a few minutes whilst the cells went in.
The door's now pretty much shut. I'll not be allowed out of the room for a couple of weeks, at least, though visitors are allowed in - if snotter free.
Got a big dose of anti-histamine given at the same time, so expecting to drop of for 40 winks.
Still, beats daytime telly.
Later
Not allowed out for a couple of weeks.....you should have let me deal with your case, you would have been in there for much longer!!!
ReplyDeleteI am interested in the sweetcorn smell, makes a change from the wine or beer smell, will Corri recognise you when she visits?
If you are really unlucky we will visit you next week.
You are both in our thoughts.
