I swear I could see semi digested monster munch in his gullet - the Aberdeen sea gull food of choice.
Anyway - this is DAY +1. We're counting up now, not backwards. More progress.
My few billion little stem cells are, by all accounts, back on the premises and having a good look around: admiring the new minimalist interior, choosing the best rooms.
I'm generally feeling very good. Slight taste in the mouth and a bit of a runny arse, but otherwise ok. Appetite isn't wonderful, but I'm managing to eat reasonably well. Have done all my exercises, though might repeat some later or finally give the Wii console a more serious attempt. Corri's in this evening, so that should keep us both occupied.
So aye. All fine here for the moment.
Later.
p.s. would love to know what you're all doing this weekend, if you have time.
Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteThe seagulls and the oyster catchers at Foresterhill drive me up the wall sometimes as well with their persistent cawling. They love to congregate on the roof outside my office in O&G and natter away for hours on end. Add in the screams from the women below in the labour ward and it's a delightful environment to work in!
Andrew and I have been for a bike ride in the local forest - a technical ride with lots of tree roots, boggy patches, and tree branches to duck. Next we're into Aberdeen to investigate some new doors for our place. We thought we'd pop in to visit you in the afternoon, if you'd like?
Catch ya,
Kirsten.
P.S. Oh, and we also set the date for our wedding this morning - 16th January 2010 on Riversdale Beach in New Zealand! Ceilidh in Banchory to celebrate on 17th July 2009. You and Corri are to both events.
Morning Joe, glad to hear things are going good so far. A runny arse - is that a 6 or a 7 on the scale? A bit more accuracy would be appreciated please...
ReplyDeleteI'm about to go for a run on my bike, then I'm going to attack the cab of our 1988 Bedford/Authomes "Bambi" camper van with rust remover followed by roll-on hammerite (white, smooth finish). The van is apparently almost a collectors item as it is in 100% original condition (well, not the rust of course) and the little 1000cc engine has only chugged through 51,000 miles in its 21 years!
Tonight we may try a pub or two then hopefully we'll get a bit of sun tomorrow for a walk and maybe a bit of gardening. Life on the edge, eh? You DID ask what folk were doing this weekend!
Take it easy, and keep an eye on that bristol scale...
Rory
Hi Rory,
ReplyDeleteHovering between a 5 and 4 just now.
Sounds like a smashing weekend. Hope you get a Sunny Sunday.
Hey Joe
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are going pretty well so far!
I don't know if you saw my previous comment - Mike is away to climb Mt Shasta this weekend. I am on my own with the kiddos, not sure what we will do. There is an art festival in Menlo Park (one of the nearby cities) which we might go to. If I'm feeling particularly energetic then we'll make a big outing of it, and I'll take the kids there on the Caltrain! They love the train. If not energetic we'll just drive. It's a bit grey here just now, but I think the weather will do it's usual thing and burn off the morning gloom and leave us with a lovely sunny day :-)
Hope you have a good visit with Corri this evening, and say a big hello to her from me.
Andrea
Joe,
ReplyDeleteDon't listen to Rory. The weather is foul in Shetland. His camper-van won't start anyway, so he couldn't get to the pub even if the fog cleared long enough for him to find it.
You're far better off bird-watching (and that's not the nurses) in your cosy little room.
Hang in there!
Jeff
Hi joe
ReplyDeleteWe are in somerset for the weekend
Lovely morning
No cider headache
If you are really unlucky we will visit you tomorrow unless something better comes along
Regards to Corri we like her more than we like you
Regards
Mark
Sunny day on Arran –spent mostly lounging around and enjoying the view. It certainly makes up for a stay-over in Crosshouse!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Joe but don’t be unkind, the bird has gone to great lengths climbing up the escalator to entertain you. However, if all else fails, including the earplugs, then Al will post on the mother of all catapults.
Treatment sounds like the Grand National – first hurdle over and done in style. When you feel up to it, how about putting your mind to rewriting the four-hundred-year-old law of gravitation. – I thought ’13 Things That Don’t Make Sense’ might be a challenge, Joe. You see I have great faith in your ability to conquer.
Make a good recovery.
