Bugger!

Back in, hopefully briefly, after spiking a wee temperature last night. Feeling pretty good again this morning and temp has stayed down. They are going to keep an eye on me for 24hrs or so...so fingers crossed - out again tomorrow.

On the positive side Neuts are a whopping 1.2, WCC 5.0 and platelets a stonking 98 - an 10 year high! Might even have a shave.

It's not the best poem in the world but its positive in the understated sort of way suitable to the Scots rather than the inspirational razzamatz style of our cross Atlantic cousins.
You might have heard it before, at ma' wedding, but I doubt it as nobody was listening to me!

Any chance you could send me a photo of your shrivelled scrotum. I'd like to enter you into the Turner Prize. If 'Cow in Formalyn' can win I reckon 'Man with Shrivelled Scrotum' is in with a great shout.
All the best Joe. Big atheiest prayers for you and Corri.
Kenny, Catriona, Caitlin, but not Isla.
Isla has a poem for you instead.

A dog and a hog do a dance in a bog
    But not the hippopotamus
A cat and two rats are trying on hats
    But not the hippopotamus
A moose and a goose, together have juice
    But not the hippopotamus
A hare and bear are going to the fair
    But not the hippopotamus

Now the dog and the hog go out for jog
With the cat and the rats and their new running hats
Whilst the goose and the hare, the moose and the bear, are doing their best to keep up with the rest.
    But not the hippopotamus
Then the animal pack come scurrying back and say.. Hey come join the rest of us
Should she stay, should she go, she just doesn't know......But YES the hippopotamus!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    But not the armadillo........

  5. Hi Joe, not been on here for a few days (Shetland folk festival, generally get to bed at about 8 each morning, last night of it tonight and I think my liver will be greatful!). Glad things are going well, bit of a bummer you're back in again but hopefully out tomorrow again! At least you had a night in your own bed...

    Take care of yourself,

    Rory

  6. Kenny & Isla,
Love the poem - thanks - it's all in the last line.
I recall well "Sometimes". If I'm thinking right, Sheenagh Pugh has since totally dishowned the poem (probably after your wedding, where it was inappropriately used), but I like it.

Rory - hope you haven't induced any "folk festival arse"

    Karen - I didn't have the energy.
