A very good morning, on Day +14

Can't believe it's two weekes since they put the stem cells back in. That time has truly flow past in the blinking of an eye. And, I'm not complaining.

I'm feeling really well this morning. Great sleep thanks to a mild sleeping pill with my coco. Feel fresh and healthy this morning. Therefore. getting anxious to not be in here. All down to the blood counts to decided when the door gets opened. I doubt it'll hit 0.5 today, but perhaps tomorrow. We'll see.

Interesting discover - without any nose hairs, not even the little ones, boggies and snot just run out of their own accord. Corri's always telling me to blow my nose because of some dangler I'm blissfully unaware of.

Had a poo this morning that looked like it might be heading in the right 'firmness' direction. Still wouldn't hold a candle, thought, but progress. Progress.

Face swelling has gone right down too

  1. Joe-was lying around on the sofa last night and felt something bumpy under ma bum. Felt around and bugger me, found myself a neutrophil! Got me thinking. Started looking around; under cushions, at the back of the fridge, in trouser pockets, in the shed. Was blown away by the results. Found 4 neutrophils, 47 platelets and a red cell dating back to 1988. Couldn't believe that such valuable little cells we just discard and throw away. What a disposeable society we are. Even little Caitlin had an Eosinophil that she wasn't using and Isla found 4 basophils in her lunch box! It's just crazy over here. We're having a Myeloproliferative May!
Anyway collected them all together and posted them this afternoon. Should reach you by end of next week. Hopefully by then you'll be a neutrophil autonomous region but just put them in a safe place and I'll collect them when we meet up next.
Now, got to update you on some breaking news. I know how you unwell people can become very introspective and isolated from real world events but this is something you need to know about................ Swine flu!!! I recognise that you will know nothing about this as you have been locked up safely in hospital but this is something important. You see, it's a flu, and it's from swine. I only just found out about it this afternoon and I've been practising medicine for the past fortnight!. One of my patients told me about it. Corri as a public health physician might know about it but I doubt it. If I find out any more I'll let you know but in this hiatus of hard facts I recommend reading the News of the World. They seem to have a good science reporter at the moment.
Anyway, enough the public health warning.
Lots of hugs kisses and love from Catriona, Isla and Caitlin and a rather reticent grunt from Kenny

  2. Sorry Joe - this week's been hectic - doing lots of urgent but supremely unimportant work. All those post holiday resolutions about walking each lunchtime have fallen into ashes. Did give Myffy a wee day in the back of our car and a time for a tumble with Freoch at lunchtime at the end of last week - but not a sniff of one for her this I'm afraid. My intentions to come and hang out with you for a while this week also got derailed too I'm ashamed to say and as I'm sure you noticed. But, if you've not managed to escape by Tuesday next week, I'll try to get over.

We're off to Findhorm camping just now - although - its camping Joe, but not as you know it. There's electricity involved. We've both gone soft in our advancing years.

Its just great to hear your doing so well. As my mother would say, "keep gaun son, your daen fine"

    Flora xx
